Mold Remediation : Case Reports
Christopher Newport UniversityAn off-site facility was purchased by CNU for additional student classroom needs. The property was previously a grocery store in strip mall that was currently in use by a church. Multiple water damages from various sources had caused fungal growth which affected carpeting, drywall, ceiling tiles, and HVAC system. In addition there were asbestos flooring tile to which the carpeting had been glued that had to be removed. Drying Solutions was contracted to provide mold remediation, cleaning of walls, floors, HVAC systems, and removal of asbestos flooring tiles. Project involved coordination of multiple contractors and was performed to current standards including NYCG-DOH, EPA, OSHA and IICRCS-520 guidelines. Pre- and post-sampling for efficacy were performed by independent IEP.
City of Virginia Beach SchoolAttention to detail is a must when cleaning a microscopic enemy that is often invisible to the naked eye!
When fuzzy fungi bloomed on a local middle school auditorium's sears, floors, railings, stage equipment, sound and light boards, musical instruments and chorus staging, the School Engineering department quickly called Drying Solutions. The school was just three weeks away from Opening Day for over 700 students. AND, new carpeting was scheduled for installation.
First order of business was to correct the mechanical problems brought by vandals. Humidity levels had reached almost 80%! Before DSI could effectively treat the problem, the indoor air balance had to be restored to prevent further fungal growth and moisture damage.
While school officials worked on the humidity issue, DSI moved in to save orchestral sheet music which had dampened. Moving the documents to DSI's facility, they were placed in a drying chamber.
Containing and filtering a large space such as this auditorium required careful calculations and proper sizing and placement of equipment. Tony Barnes and his crew completed the cleaning in just 6 days - allowing ample time to install the new carpet before the opening day of school.
Fort EustisFollowing water intrusion from exterior flooding and environmental controls of moisture due to build outs and older HVAC system, this 80,000 square foot facility had required Level III to Level I mold remediation throughout the building, including ductwork and all contents and furnishings.
Upon final inspection the following comment was received from the contracting officer; "Your Company has been a delight to work with. You're everything I'd ever look for in a mold remediation contractor. The knowledge and professionalism of your company and employees exceeded my highest expectations."
